Ukraine Refuses to ‘Halve Its Army’ as Trump Pushes Moscow-Aligned Peace Plan

by admin477351

Ukrainian leaders rejected Trump’s proposal that requires Ukraine to halve its army. Zelenskyy said such a demand is unacceptable and endangers Ukraine’s future. The plan mirrors several Russian objectives.
Trump wants the deal signed by Thanksgiving. He said Ukraine should “accept something” or continue fighting. His remarks came as Russia intensifies infrastructure strikes.
Zelenskyy warned of a severe winter if Ukraine refuses the plan. He emphasized that accepting it would destroy Ukraine’s freedom and sovereignty. He vowed never to violate Ukraine’s constitution.
He said Ukraine would continue working with the US but would propose alternatives. Any peace must prevent future invasions, not encourage them.
European allies backed Ukraine, saying any peace must reflect Kyiv’s red lines and long-term security.
